MAY MUSINGS – HAVE YOU BEEN TELLING TALES?

Hello, I hope May is going well for you so far?

So, have you been telling tales, writing poetry for National Poetry Month or perhaps just pondering?

Over here at Creative Writes, I have been spinning tales with my groups and also in my own writing space. Some of these tales have been spun into poetry. Here’s a poem I wrote at Sutton House, sitting in the Linenfold Parlour and inspired by the story of Sir Ralph Sadleir & his wife Ellen.

On the day her husband returned from sea,

After the years had gone by

He looked around at the elaborate wooden panels

Imitating folded linen

He looked at her new life and her new husband

And he said;

“What if there isn’t anybody else? What if it’s all about you and me, our story?”

And the wooden panels dissolved into linen & draped around her

Holding together her splitting seams

Last week, I met up with Olivia from ScreenDeep at the Museum of London Docklands to check out the recently installed ‘Conversations’ Music Hall themed sound piece, that we worked hard on last year.
