Connection:
a relationship in which a person or thing is linked or associated with something else.
We all need this, right?
The past two years has called so much into question for many of us – including how we connect and who/what with. What do we value & why? What do we need? As the world continue to spin turbulently, it brings these questions into even clearer focus, as we hold on tight.
Sometimes all you can do is carry on, move forward and strengthen what matters. For me, writing is where I find my calm and facilitating creative writing workshops is an essential part of finding that connection.
Writing idea! How do you find calm, your peace? Does writing help? Try grounding yourself by writing, ‘Today I…'(we tried this in a Creative Writes Workshop recently, with powerful results).
Last week, we had our first Creative Writes ‘Walk & Write’ and it felt particularly poignant to be together in nature on a beautiful day – basking in words, each other’s company & the stories of Stephens House & Gardens, North London. We were all so happy and mindful of how we had missed that connection and as a writer said, that ‘physicality.’
Here are comments from two of our participants (who I met for the first time that day, after seeing them at Creative Writes Zoom Workshops for the past year & a half):
I had such a lovely morning, it was brilliant. The combination of being outdoors amongst nature, exploring a new area of London, being around great people and just letting loose creatively was perfect. Looking forward to the next one! – SW
I found the workshop extremely engaging and informative. It was everything I could ask for, and I loved being surrounded by nature! Thank you Nick, I’m eagerly awaiting the next session! – NS

Our next Walk & Write is on Saturday 26 March at Alexandra Palace Lake, Park & Terrace , N22 (part 1). We have limited places (If you book all five remaining Walk & Write Workshops together, there is a £20 discount).
Weekly Creative Writes Space to Write and monthly Words & Wine Zoom Workshops, continue to connect our writers from across the globe and we savour these communities. I am also continuing with our Masterclasses online and love helping navigate writers through their creative minds and projects.
We will also be taking Words & Wine out on the road to different venues, alongside the online programme. Watch this space!
Take care & stay connected,
Nichola x
