Last Saturday, I moved into a new flat. It had been a hectic lead up to the big day, with so much to organise after almost 11 years in the old place. There was a moment, as I travelled in the removal van to help navigate the driver through the road closures(!), with my friends and family in convoy – where I was aware of the transition. I was aware of that space somewhere between the old and the new where I floated, belonging to both and neither. I had left the old keys with my now ‘old flatmate’ and not yet set up properly in my new home. But as soon as I turned the key and the van was emptied – it was clear, this was where I belonged. This was where my focus would be. And my future. The light flooded in and we set to work…creating my new space.
It is the beginning of the New Year in the Jewish calendar and a fitting time for reflection and to begin a new chapter. I came across the following in a prayer book:
Your home should be a place of quietness and happiness, where no harsh word is ever heard, but love, friendship, modesty and a spirit of gentleness and reverence rules all the time.

Creative Writes Workshops Update:
All workshops are held at the wonderful North Bank House in Muswell Hill, N10.
– We have just two places left on our October Wednesday Workshops, which begin this Wednesday 8 October and run for three consecutive weeks, 7.30-9.30pm. There is also a block of three Wednesdays in December.
– Our Themed Workshops begin again on Wednesday 29 October with ‘Colour as Writing Inspiration,’ 7.30-9.30pm. Themed Workshops are on the last Wednesday of each month, with the exception of December.
– Our next Motivational Writing Surgery is on Saturday 1 November and you will have the opportunity to try a range of ideas in this three hour workshop, 2-5pm.
– One to one Masterclasses & Skype workshops run all year.
